District Assistant Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Samuel M. Huddleston
I have been reading, it seems like daily, the words of the Apostle Paul found in the book of Ephesians. You know them well, where he writes, “I, therefore, a prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility, and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the Unity of the spirit in the bond of PEACE.” Ephesians 4:1-3.
That’s a mouthful. I truly believe that the world needs women and men who understand first what their calling is and, second, walk it out in a manner that facilitates Godly peace. “Peace,” Jesus said, “I leave with you.” It is a peace that can be seen in our lives and heard from our lips. It is a peace that the world not only needs but wants. It is a peace that ought to be seen in the people of God on a daily basis. In our homes, on our jobs, in our ministries, marriages, etc. But is it? This past year, I have again been privileged to travel across the 200,000 square miles that comprise Northern California and Nevada Assemblies of God. In the few pictures that you see, you see peacemakers. That is one of the highlights of my year. Whether I am in Eureka, Ely, Nevada, Madera, the San Joaquin Valley, or the Bay Area, I get to visit with our peace makers. You find them in:

They are there touching lives by living out the words of Paul. They are living their God-ordained call in Humility, Gentleness, Patience, with Love and an eagerness to maintain the Unity in the bond of Peace. Unity and Peace, two words that can only be lived out fully by the ecclesia or called out ones representing the Church of Jesus Christ.
I hope you have been encouraged by the ministries of your church and our district that happened in 2025. May people say of you/us, there goes a woman/man of peace. Their entire being represents a desire for Christlike Unity.

District Churches / District Missions
I want to say thank you to so many people for the privilege of serving in this office. Dr. Jay reminded us all at the start of our Sectional gatherings that we don’t have to, but we get to. He is so right. Thanks, Dr. Jay, from all of us ministers. We don’t have to; we get to serve our Lord by serving His people.
Back to my thank you’s. Thank you, Pastor Bret, for the privilege of serving alongside you and Dr. Jay. Most Mondays, when the three of us are in the office, we have a standing 10 am meeting. Then we go to an early lunch. Someone asked Dr. Jay where he goes to Church. He didn’t have to think about it, he said, “My church meets on Monday in the Superintendent’s office with the Superintendent and Dr. Sam.” It threw me off for a moment because he does have a church home. We all do. It was not until he explained what he meant that I wholeheartedly shared with him. I would tell you, but you should ask Dr. Jay, whom I want to thank as well. Also, both of their wives, Valerie and Teri, are a special part of the team.
Lastly, thank you to my family. Linda, you will always be “My Girl.” On August 21, we will celebrate 50 years as husband and wife. I can’t believe you have kept me that long. To my children, my grandchildren, my 3 new grandsons-in-law, and my two new great-grandsons, Marquese Joseph and Little Kade Bruno, who is due June 9th. I love all of you, and thanks for making me A Blessed Man and a very rich man because, unlike many, I’ve got a loving, caring family.
This year, at Teen Challenge NorWestCal Nevada (NWCN), our 2026 Teen Challenge graduates are holding onto the “Anchor of Hope” at our annual graduation ceremony. This year’s ceremony will showcase the following achievements:

Thank you again to Teen Challenge NWCN for reaching the lost for the cause of Christ.
We are celebrating another year of the increase of God’s government and peace on our college campuses in 2024! Thousands of students have received gospel witness and hundreds of lives are being transformed by His divine love and power! In addition to impactful ministry and milestones on our current universities, like Sacramento State University that just celebrated 30 years on campus! We continue to move forward in the great commission with missionary teams like UC Santa Cruz, that just launched two new ministries at San Jose State University and Monterey State University! We are deeply grateful to be a part of this district and for the prayers and support we received as we seek to enlist, equip, and engage missionaries to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and send out revivalists who advance God’s kingdom from the universities to the nations!
